About Me

Developing Attractive Business Signage

A few years back when I decided to start up my own business, I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into. I thought about what to offer and how to serve my customers, instead of how to get the word out about my company. Unfortunately, when I opened my doors, I realized that I hadn't marketed effectively, and my foot traffic was incredible low—to say the least. Fortunately, after taking a marketing class, I learned how to make my business more recognizable to the public and how to keep people talking about my business. Read here to learn simple marketing tactics that could transform your small company.

Inexpensive Advertising Ideas

If you are in the process of getting a new business up and running, you are most likely inundated with several expenditures at once. One of the most important parts of starting a new business is getting the word out to others about your existence. If you do not take efforts to advertise you will not gain customers, making it difficult to pay for the expenses you have incurred. Here are a few low-cost business advertising methods to put into place when you are first starting a new business.

Use The Internet

One of the most important ways you can advertise is to utilize the Internet. If you cannot afford any other type of advertising, putting your money into a well-made webpage is crucial to boost your reputation and overall presence. Many people look things up online, so not having anything to direct them to your business would cause you to lose many potential sales.

Sign up for free business listings on some of the more popular search engines so your company will be found by locals. Set up social media pages to advertise weekly specials and put fun, informative facts on the pages so your followers will constantly see your business name in their news feeds.

Utilize Your Vehicles

Put some car magnets on the sides of the vehicles you own so when you drive through town people read the information you wish them to know. Make sure to drive around congested areas around rush hour so that people read about your business when your vehicles are stopped in traffic. If you can leave your vehicles on the street, place them in a way where people stopped in traffic will gaze over at your vehicles as they wait to resume driving.

Park your vehicles in parking lots and leave them for the day. Use large lettering and contrasting colors so the information stands out. These magnets are inexpensive and will boost the advertisement to people you may not have initially targeted demographically.

Get Involved In Town

Make it a point to join things within town so that others become aware of your new business. Sign up for business fairs, trade shows, and chamber of commerce functions. Volunteer help with town fundraisers for low-income families, or even host one on your own.

You may need to have a batch of cheap business cards made up so you will be able to hand something to prospective customers and other business owners. Make them on your own using your computer, card stock, and a printer if you lack the funds for professional ones until later. Hand your card to everyone you meet and talk with them about your business and what you wish to accomplish within town.  Becoming active within your community will drive your sales up very quickly.
